The Centre is a registered charity and non-profit organisation which provides professional counselling services. Even though it has been working with people in the community for over 25 years it's ethos and mission statement has remained the same.

"We are committed to providing counselling and psychotherapy to the highest ethical and professional standards to all members of society regardless of financial means, religious beliefs, race, sexual orientation or educational background."

The Centre was founded in the 1980's by Maria Huss a clinical psychotherapist who had been clinical director of a Community Therapy Centre in Germany prior to her work in Ireland. Maria was also a qualified psychotherapist and a psychotherapy trainer. It was granted charitable status in 1989 in recognition of it's ethos and commitment to the community.

In spite of limited resources our aims are as relevant and necessary today as when we started to work with clients over 25 years ago. The Centre is also expanding its reach into the community by running programmes such as Suicide Prevention for schools and Parenting for separated couples.

The Training Institute

The Centre runs a very successful adult education Training Institute. We provide a Foundation course and we also run a professional Diploma, accredited by the Irish Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (I.A.C.P).

At the moment the Training Institute are working towards offering their very first Top-Up Degree programme in 2011.

If you are already qualified we also run Supervision and other postgraduate training courses.
