Course Structure

The course is organised on a part-time basis. The core of the training is done over 2 years in an ongoing training group, followed by 100 practice hours. The group meets on a monthly basis for residential weekends and extended workshops from September to May.

To successfully complete each training year, students must have passed all three elements of training, e.g. Personal Development, Skills Training and Theory.

Once students successfully complete their second year they will then begin their 100 hours of supervised practice hours. This can be done either at The Centre or at an external placement in an approved setting.

Course Content

Effective training has to incorporate four components:

  1. Deep personal awareness,

  2. Thorough knowledge of theory and techniques,

  3. Skills Training

  4. Supervised clinical practice

The Training Institute provides all of the above. In keeping with the humanistic philosophy upon which the course is based, the primary mode of training is experiential learning.Throughout the training students engage in the very process of self-exploration they are learning to facilitate in others.

Fees, Assessment & Award

Fees: 3,900 Euro tuition fee per annum.

Please note training fees do not cover supervision, practice hour costs, cost of accommodation for the workshops etc.

Assessment: is continuous and based on a series of submitted assignments, maintenance of a personal journal, attendance at workshops and tutorials, attendance at feedback on personal development from self, peers and trainers. The final decision rests solely with the training team.
