Funding the Centre
The Centre is a charity registered since 1985 and governed by a Company Board. (Charity Number CHY8911).
We always welcome any donations and offers of fundraising. As we are a registered charitable organisation tax rebates are available on all donations over 250 Euro. Although we raise some income through our training courses, much of our expenditure is met by fundraising and voluntary donations.
You can see how donations make a huge difference to the Centre in our development plan.
We do receive some statutory funding and grants. However The Centre still has to find almost 50% of its running costs every year from other sources, this includes fundraising, seeking additional grants and various other initiatives. The reason we need to do this is because our clients pay fees on a sliding scale, ie. they pay what they can afford. So currently we the organisation subsidises the fees of over 90% of our clients. This is the challenge we face every year.
