Fundraising Night 2011

We was shortlisted from a national pool of applicants to receive money from the Bord Gais Community Energy Fund. The Centre was presented with 10,000euro from the CEO of Bord Gais, John Mullins on Fridya 27th August 2010.

The Director of Development, Catriona Hogan says, "It's fantastic that even in today's climate Irish businesses such as Bord Gais are still supporting their local communities by investing their time and money in charities and not-for-profit organizations. In the last 12 months especially we've seen our client numbers go through the roof as people try to cope with the loss of income, jobs and even their homes in some cases so the money we received from the Bord Gais Energy Fund is a great help and will enable us to extend services to all our clients and offset some of the costs of running the Centre."

The Bord Gais Community Energy Fund was set up to share the success of the Bord Gais "Big Switch" campaign which saw their customer base reach 1 million recently. To mark this, Bord Gais decided to share their success with Irish communities by creating an energy fund which would support local, regional and national projects. This year they donated 100,000euro worth of energy to support 16 projects across the country.
